Houston, TX - Full Time

Our client is looking to hire a Program/Sales Manager with heavy client/account development and cold calling net new business hunting style within the electronics/industrial manufacturing of products. You will manage an assigned geographical region for the promotion, support and sales of Company’s products. These products are electrical in nature and consist of but not limited to, industrial computers, displays and peripherals.

There will be up to 50% travel at times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining sales of Company’s products to existing customers as well as to identify and promote Company’s products to new prospects by working with Business Development Managers (BDM) and/or Manufacturer's Reps.

  • Work with BDMs and Inside Sales Reps to support all pre & post sales activities. This includes, but not limited to, quote/lead follow up, demo/eval presentations, reseller development/management, Rep development/management, and manage all post sales activities.

  • Responsible for growing the existing business in all current accounts. Establish a strong relationship with the appropriate contacts (Program, Project, Engineering, Procurement groups) and embed Company’s product line in current & upcoming projects.

  • Create presentations and proposals to respond to formal RFQs.

  • Identifying and reporting new products and emerging market trends.

  • Required to set His/Her own schedule beyond a 40 hour work week in order to complete all tasks in a timely manner. Work ethics to effectively satisfy the customer requirements in lieu of a time clock is critical.

  • Maintain all communication records using CRM and email.

  • Interface with Engineering for pre and post sales products related issues.

  • Interface with all Company’s Departments to satisfy open issues on existing orders to meet on time delivery.

EducationExperience, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Degree/BBA, BSBA: Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of Science Business Administration or equivalent with 3-5 years of practical experience

  • Experience working with a Sales Force/Sales Logic and managing workflow between the customer, the Sales Force and Manufacturer.

  • Experience with processing and analyzing the Sales Force performance as well as making recommendations and implementing corrections if necessary.

  • Managing and mentoring Inside Sales and other support groups.

  • Experience in presentation of products and services to groups of prospects and customers. This experience shall include presentations for the purposes of training and presentations for the purpose of selling to different level of groups within the accounts.

  • Fluent in all of the following Microsoft Word programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

  • Managing workflow through a complete understanding of ever changing customer requirements and applying a sense of urgency to them and completing the tasks on time.

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of computer, display and peripheral system applications. Industrial or electronics applications are a plus but not a hard requirement.

  • Additionally electronic components knowledge that relates to manufacturing of products is required.

  • Have knowledge of the Company’s markets

  • Engineering: Program/Sales Manager shall have an understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology as it applies to Company’s products.

  • Working knowledge of assembly documentation, parts drawings and Bill Of Materials.

  • Have the knowledge and understanding of Sales Techniques, Relationship Selling, Customer Relationship Management, and Communication Skills.

Skill Requirements:

  • Communication: MUST possess excellent written, reading and oral communication skills.

  • Sales Techniques:

    • Must have had training and practical application of the knowledge of understanding of Sales Techniques, Relationship selling, Customer Management and Communication Skills

  • Long-term Relationships:

    • Have the ability to build strong long-term relationships with customers.

  • Revenue Goals:

    • Have the ability to independently manage and achieve measurable revenue goals. This may be shown through previous work examples.

  • Sense of Urgency:

    • Have the ability to manage and set priorities in an ever changing customer driven market.

  • Leadership:

    • Have strong leadership skills and be a self starter.
